Construction 3D printer APIS COR is declared a winner of Startup Tour 2016 in Irkutsk
Construction 3D printer APIS COR, that was developed by an Irkutsk company “Apis Cor” – a resident of regional machinery cluster, is declared a winner of Startup Tour 2016 in Irkutsk. A project that has taken the third place in “Industrial technologies and materials” section was presented by a project manager Anna Chen-yun-tai.
The organizer of the roadshow were the representatives of the innovation economy sector: Fund "Skolkovo", co-organizers - "RBC", the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere, FRII (Foundation for the development of Internet-initiatives) and others. At the regional level, support to the event was provided by the Ministry of development of the Irkutsk region and the Administration of Irkutsk. Startup Tour in Irkutsk brought together over 600 participants from the Siberian regions of Russia - young entrepreneurs and scientists from the Trans-Baikal and Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Buryatia, Tuva and Khakassia. According to the results of the regional competition 15 teams were named and received recognition of experts and investors of the Russian innovation market.
The aim of the project "Apis Cor", proposed as an engineer-entrepreneur Nikita Chen-yun-tai, is to change the construction industry, making the process of building fast, environmentally friendly and inexpensive. The development enables millions of people to improve their living conditions and make housing truly affordable. Currently, the construction of houses with the help of 3D-printing technology is one of the most promising trends in the industry. The founder of the company "Apis Cor" engineer Nikita Chen-yun-tai developed the circular mobile 3D-printer APIS COR, allowing to build the house from the "inside."
The original device is a telescopic arm rotating, 5.5 m long and 1.5 m in height, weights 2.5 tons. Staying in one place, 3D- printer APIS COR can build layer upon layer of the wall with the concrete mix. At the same time it is easy to transport, and start-up operations take no more than 30 minutes. Power consumption is only 8kW (five working electric kettles). With the help of 3D printer, you can execute any design ideas. Another advantage is the lack of construction waste.
As it was told to the representative of the Center for Cluster Development Irkutsk Region by the project manager Anna Chen-yun-tai, they have created a fully functional working prototype.
“Printer's coverage area is about 192 square meters. Thanks to the extruder with two degrees of freedom, which is able to print slanted and curved walls, the height of the print is unlimited. The thickness of each layer is about 2.5 cm. We have successfully printed the first trial and the printer is now set to build a real home.”
During the test, from a number of printed construction mixtures based on various binders (bitumen, polymers, concrete magnesia) we’ve chosen the best option to print a test wall. Active participation in the experiments was taken by our partners - the Russian- Italian company "RENKA RUS". In the near future our colleagues will finalize the composition to get the perfect consistency.
Mobile 3D printer allows for the construction by the future standards. We provide the perfect geometry of the building, thereby making it possible to quickly produce a finish. All this saves up to 70% of the cost of erecting the frame of the building compared to traditional construction
So as 3D-printing technology has no state standards and regulations, we have adapted it to existing standards. We print permanent framework for reinforced concrete frame, all self-supporting walls and partitions. Thus, the foundation of the house is a reinforced concrete frame which has all the methods of calculation and which has long been used in the construction. The printed walls can be insulated with ecowool, so the house is warm. The facade can be any, if desired, (facing bricks, siding, ventilated facades, etc.). There are no restrictions on walls thickness "- said Anna Chen-yun-tai.
On February 16, 2016 the team "Apis Cor" with the support of the Center for Cluster Development of the Irkutsk region will participate in the Investment and Construction Forum in Moscow, where they will speak at a round table on the topic " Strategy of innovative development of the construction industry until 2030"
